The blues or how to make other people sad.
Listening to the radio on the way back from a meeting with the boy's therapist the radio was playing
BB king with U2 "when love came to town", and man if it didn't hit me that blues aren't about making
your self feel better, it's about making others weep. Cool.

Reminded me that I need to tell the boy that falling in love wasn't a goal, it was something that just
happened. A hormonal imbalance in fact. The tears will be real, the pain fades to a dull throb. Horny
is easy it's the biochemical attachment that is the bitch.

Basically, I'm tore down baby, almost level with the ground.

The women in my life say one thing and go do another, no faith in anything outside of what they want,
when times get hard they served up my walking papers. The stone cold bitch of it all is that I am
left wondering what the hell I did, didn't do, or whatevers.

So, the only thing in common with them all was me, so I remember always “I'm attracted to her,
WTF is wrong with her”. Been on 57 first dates in the last decade all of them I could see myself
trusting, hell of an track record.

Now, I see couples together for years and years then self-destruct, Seen em do it in weeks. It's the
ones who stay together that make me wonder, what is different.

Geeze, I am writing in fragments, there is no common thread other than I probably having one of
those moments where I remember what touch is all about, feeling human in an inhuman life. I have
spent so much of my life monitoring the world and people around me, watching learning how they should
react given the stimulus they are being subjected to. Being other isn't easy, in moments like this I
forget, in these moments where I am trying to instruct another to the nature of what he is inheriting
when he too bears a stamp of strangeness. In other times an places there was a place for us, doing
those dirty jobs that the larger community needs done, quietly in shadows in hidden rooms where only
those who understand ever go.

This still doesn't make any sense, but I live in the secure knowledge that this is just a hidden scrawl
on a obscure and forgotten wall. Feelings that will happily be forgotten when time folds it's black
silken wings over us all.....

Neutral-Evil
---------------------
Plane of Existence: The Gray Waste, "Hades". Description: Here, all emotion and compassion is drained away, until only hopelessnes, selfishness and apathy remain.

Puts self-interest before all else. Will only cooperate when material
rewards are high. Untrustworthy; has contempt or fear for all others.
The ultimate motive is self-preservation and promotion of their
schemes. There are no barriers to their actions. Amoral.

Will not necessarily keep their word

Would attack an unarmed foe

Will use poisons

Will not help those in need

May work with others

Working on those night moves.
Talking to a friend about relationships, He was there when I seperated from Deb, he is in a bad relationship now. Traded in the woman of his dreams for a fantasy that turned out to be a lost 300lb gorilla. The gorilla doesn't like me so I don't get to see him very often. Seven long years, what can I do for those who are lost and know it but arn't willing to take the steps to fix the situaton.....

The whole conversation takes me back to the time when I thought love was an answer to anything. A long seven years I have spent trying to find that secret of how not to love those who have gone away. The only thing I know is there is no solution, you just have to pick up and move forward, one day you will wake and something will be missing. The missing peice is that pain, the dull throbbing is gone, if you pick at it you can still feel the agony of when it was new, but it just doesn't nag at you any more.

Love can exist, it is the masochism of the human condition, we spend so much of our young lives looking for this pain, and then wonder why it hurts. Why it doesn't answer any of the questions we attribute to it, it can't, the nature of those questions don't allow for any answer outside ones own soul.

I'm not done yet....

The Blues
HOW TO SING THE BLUES

1. Most Blues begin, "Woke up this morning."

2. "I got a good woman" is a bad way to begin the Blues, 'less you
stick something nasty in the next line, like " I got a good woman,
with the meanest face in town."

3. The Blues is simple. After you get the first line right, repeat
it. Then find something that rhymes ... sort of: "Got a good woman -
with the meanest face in town. Got teeth like Margaret Thatcher - and
she weigh 500 pound."

4. The Blues are not about choice. You stuck in a ditch, you stuck in
a ditch; ain't no way out.

5. Blues cars: Chevys and Cadillacs and broken-down trucks. Blues
don't travel in Volvos, BMWs, or Sport Utility Vehicles. Most Blues
transportation is a Greyhound bus or a southbound train. Jet aircraft
an' state-sponsored motor pools ain't even in the running. Walkin'
plays a major part in the blues lifestyle. So does fixin' to die.

6. Teenagers can't sing the Blues. They ain't fixin' to die yet.
Adults sing the Blues. In Blues, " adulthood" means being old enough
to get the electric chair if you shoot a man in Memphis.

7. Blues can take place in New York City but not in Hawaii or any
place in Canada. Hard times in St. Paul or Tucson is just depression.
Chicago, St. Louis, and Kansas City still the best places to have the
Blues. You cannot have the blues in any place that don't get rain.

8. A man with male pattern baldness ain't the blues. A woman with
male pattern baldness is. Breaking your leg cuz you skiing is not the
blues. Breaking your leg cuz an alligator be chomping on it is.

9. You can't have no Blues in an office or a shopping mall. The
lighting is wrong. Go outside to the parking lot or sit by the dumpster.

10. Good places for the Blues:

a. highway
b. jailhouse
c. empty bed
d. bottom of a whiskey glass

Bad places:

a. Ashrams
b. gallery openings
c. Ivy League institutions
d. golf courses

11. No one will believe it's the Blues if you wear a suit, 'less you
happen to be an old ethnic person, and you slept in it.

12. Do you have the right to sing the Blues? Yes, if:

a. you're older than dirt
b. you're blind
c. you shot a man in Memphis
d. you can't be satisfied

No, if:

a. you have all your teeth
b. you were once blind but now can see
c. the man in Memphis lived.
d. you have a retirement plan or trust fund.

13. Blues is not a matter of color. It's a matter of bad luck. Tiger
Woods cannot sing the blues. Gary Coleman could. Ugly white people
also got a leg up on the blues.

14. If you ask for water and Baby give you gasoline, it's the Blues.

Other acceptable Blues beverages are:

a. wine
b. whiskey or bourbon
c. muddy water
d. black coffee

The following are NOT Blues beverages:

a. mixed drinks
b. kosher wine
c. Snapple
d. sparkling water

15. If it occurs in a cheap motel or a shotgun shack, it's a Blues
death. Stabbed in the back by a jealous lover is another Blues way to
die. So is the electric chair, substance abuse, and dying lonely on a
broken down cot. You can't have a Blues death if you die during a
tennis match or getting liposuction.

16. Some Blues names for women:

a. Sadie
b. Big Mama
c. Bessie
d. Fat River Dumpling

17. Some Blues names for men:

a. Joe
b. Willie
c. Little Willie
d. Big Willie

18. Persons with names like Sierra, Sequoia, Auburn, and Rainbow
can't sing the Blues no matter how many men they shoot in Memphis.

19. Make your own Blues name (starter kit):

a. name of physical infirmity (Blind, Cripple, Lame, etc.)
b. first name (see above) plus name of fruit (Lemon, Lime, Kiwi, etc.)
c. last name of President (Jefferson, Johnson, Fillmore, etc.)

For example, Blind Lime Jefferson, or Cripple Kiwi Fillmore, etc.

(Well, maybe not "Kiwi.")

20. I don't care how tragic your life: you own a computer, you cannot
sing the blues. You best destroy it. Fire, a spilled bottle of Mad
Dog, or get out a shotgun. I don't care.

If there is meaning to this spell it is beyond my comprehension other than it is linked to the internal forces of creation and destruction. Sometime am insensate to the forces shaping the maelstrom that is my life, needing to be free of any external influence that isn't my choosing. Speaking in pictures and symbols with words trailing like after thoughts.

If this makes any sense then please explain it to me in small words, the big ones are gorging my palette this day.

Just another lonley day.
Argh! Forgot sunday why they are known as ex'in-laws....

Funny how we get lazy and all the social inequities sneak up and bite you on the ass. Well I guess I get to be the bastard ex-husband from here on out. They want any favors they better figure out how to fix her skills at getting anything out of me. They might start with pressuring her to pay all her child support. Though the DA will do that for me, which I probably will do, see how long it takes fro them to garnish her wages. Then there is the little fact of her..... Fuck it... We all know the story. She can be a slut, and jump from sleaze-bag to sleaze-bag, and I get all the day to day joy of being a single parent.

Maybe I am just a bastard....

Maybe I have always been one.....

Maybe this is payback for everything that I have done to others....

Who knows?

In the twenty years that I have been an adult I have spent less than half of them in a working relationships. all three of those long term relationships have flamed out in new and interesting ways. The only common thread is me, So I have got to figure i'm the problem. Maybe that is the real reason none have worked.... Doesn't leave a lot of room for hope that the next one will either, so maybe I just have to get used to life here in the Monastery.

The deed is done....
Well that's it, the fat lady has sung, it's over, yadda yadda yadda.....

Finished my last project today, and promptly trashed it, felt good in that destroying the inferior art sort of way. So I get a whole 9 days off and it starts again, God what am I gonna do with the kid this summer. Locking his whinny little ass in the closet is one solution I guess, but not one I'll get away with.

Pondering...

Make him go to class with me?

That way he can help me with my calculus..... Naw he's only nine will save those scars for high school. No like I will get any help from his mother either, wish I could jump from job to job and sugar daddy to sugar daddy...... Well that is enough bitterness, she'll get hers when the kid is looking to blame a parent for all his emotional scars.

Hey other news I get to go watch another friend shoot himself in the foot again on the 9th of July, why do all weddings make me feel like I'm sitting in the front row of a demolition derby? Maybe it is I know there is gonna be a crash. With a little bit of luck I might even have a date. I haven't figured out what here twist is yet, but I have been told she really digs me, so what could go wrong? (don't answer that, we all know the answer)

Hope springs eternal..... And we all know where that leads.

Well Now.
Finals are almost over. The ones that require me to think at least.
Just have to finish a 7-foot sculpture in chickenwire and paper mache. This project make me feel like I am in grade school again, which really isn't a bad thing, a good stretch of the imagination.

As for other things school related Ellen is not interested, is still in the middle of breaking up with her highschool boyfriend, and not doing a very convincing job of it either. Yu though is, crossing my fingers as my ass is getting heavy from all the lead I have been collecting from getting shot down so often.

In other things why are all three games I'm playing have to go flaky at the same time? What is the use of having a hobby is all you get to do is think about it.....

And if that is all I have to rant about then I'm doing good.
